★ Jibang Consulting: Micro LED Display Technology Expands Import into Apple Series Products

TrendForce Consulting pointed out that Apple will introduce Micro LED technology into consumer electronics products, and it is expected to be the first to be installed on the Apple Watch in 2024. Thanks to Apple's pioneering application, the application range of Micro LED technology has the opportunity to expand to devices such as AR glasses, mobile phones, and car displays from 2026 to 2030.

★ Hisense Vision officially becomes the controlling shareholder of Qianzhao Optoelectronics

On the evening of January 31st, Hisense Vision announced that it had acquired control of Qianzhao Optoelectronics and became its controlling shareholder. It is reported that Hisense Vision currently holds 207 million RMB ordinary shares of Qianzhao Optoelectronics, accounting for 22.88% of the total share capital of Qianzhao Optoelectronics, with a cumulative investment amount of 1.605 billion yuan.

★ Vogel Optoelectronics MiniLED Industrial Park Project Commences

On the morning of January 31st, the Vogel Optoelectronics MiniLED and High end LCD Backlight Module Industrial Park project began construction with an investment of 2 billion yuan. The project is mainly engaged in the research and development and production of car backlight modules, medium to large size backlight modules, and MiniLED backlight modules. The product applications involve VR, tablets, laptops, car displays, and other fields.

The Zhongshan project of Zhouming Technology has started construction, involving LED display screens, lighting, etc

On January 30th, the Zhongshan project of Zhouming Technology started construction, with a total investment of 1 billion yuan. The project plans to build an industry advanced intelligent production line for display screens and lighting, covering display and lighting businesses, and laying out the Mini/Micro LED business. After the project is completed, it will reach an annual production capacity of 1.35 million sets of LED display products and 8 million sets of LED lighting products.

Multiple LED projects in Zhuhai have started construction, involving micro displays, MiniLEDs, etc

On January 29th, multiple LED projects welcomed the commencement ceremony in Zhuhai. Maiwei Technology's pan semiconductor equipment and semiconductor material project will focus on equipment research and development and manufacturing for semiconductors, micro displays, and PCBs.

The total investment of the Huichuangda New Generation Electronic Information Innovation Base project is 1.8 billion yuan, which will construct industrial innovation projects such as flexible circuit boards, connectors, and MiniLEDs.

The Ruijun South China Semiconductor Project has a total investment of 1.2 billion yuan and plans to build a research and development and production base for LED driver chips and power semiconductor products.

New products and technologies

★ Seoul Weiaoshi showcases the world's first single-chip Micro LED display technology

On January 31st, it was announced that Seoul's Viagra showcased Micro LED displays based on WICOP Pixel technology at the ISE 2023 exhibition. Seoul Weiaoshi has successfully increased the brightness of Micro LED displays to 4000nits through WICOP Pixel technology, and claims to be the highest brightness level in the single chip display category.

★ Aisiqiang Launches New Micro LED Mass Production Equipment

On January 26th, Aisiqiang announced the launch of its first fully automated AsP platform, G10-AsP, to the market, providing the industry's first fully automated production process that can achieve mass production of Micro LEDs and meet the growing demand for Micro LEDs and laser equipment in the market.

The MIT team has developed a full color vertical Micro LED with a resolution of 5100PPI

On February 3rd, a research team led by the Massachusetts Institute of Technology announced the development of a full color vertically stacked Micro LED with an array density of up to 5100PPI and a size of only 4 μ m. It claims to be the MicroLED with the highest array density and smallest size currently known.

★ Xiamen University has made new progress in the research field of GaN based Micro LEDs

On January 29th, it was reported that Professor Zhang Baoping from Xiamen University's research group has effectively improved the light extraction efficiency of GaN based Micro LEDs with semi suspended structures. Compared with ordinary GaN based Micro LEDs, the light extraction efficiency of semi suspended devices has increased by 68%, and the output light power has increased by 114%, providing a new approach for preparing high-performance GaN based Micro LEDs.

Equipped with a 4K MiniLED backlight display screen, the MSI Vanishing 17 Studio laptop is released
